Painted Chevron Pattern by Candie Cooper

 


Always cover your work surface with a mat or some type of protective covering like wax paper or plastic.

Time needed for project:

Materials Needed:
- Canson Mixed Media Sketchbook, one page
- Pencil
- Plaid Folk Art and Apple Barrel Acrylic paints, 2 oz. bottles
- Paint brushes
- Newspaper or plastic lid (to put your paint on)
- Sakura Black Micron ink pen

Directions:
1.  With your pencil, draw a chevron/zig-zag pattern that fills the whole page.

2. Chose 3-5 colors of paint to paint for your zig-zag pattern. Choose what order your colors will go in for your pattern. You will paint one stripe at a time keeping the same order of colors.

3. Paint one stripe and try to keep the edges clean! You can use a different paint brush for each color or paint all the stripes of one color then wash your brush and switch to the next color.

4. Paint in every stripe and let your page dry.

5. Outine each strip with your black pen and add pattern doodles to each stripe.
