Initial Ornaments

Materials Needed:
- Activa® Hearty Clay--Quick-drying sculpting clay
- Sculpting tools (craft stick, drinking straw)
- Plaid® Apple Barrel Paint
- Sakura® Pen-Touch gold and silver pens, fine and extra fine tips
- Sakura®Permopaque® colored pens
- Large Letter Stamps
- Pencil
- Round lid or bowl to use as a circle template
- Rolling pin
- Ribbon or string

Directions:
1. Use a rolling pin to roll the clay to a ¼” thickness.
5-10 min.

2. With your circle template, cut out a circle in the clay. It should be around 2-3” across.
5 min.

3. Use the pencil to poke a hole in the top of the circle.
Less than 5 min.

4. With various stamps, create a border or pattern design around the edge of your ornament.
15-20 min.

5. Choose a letter (like your initials) and stamp it in the middle of the ornament.  Make sure to move the stamp around and press firmly to get a good imprint. Let the clay sit overnight to dry.
5 min. + dry time

6. When your ornament has dried, paint it with your favorite color and leave to dry. 
5 min. + dry time

7. Decorate the surface with Permopaque markers.

8. Loop a string through the hole and the top and hang it in a special place.
