Create Your Own Font by Candie Cooper

Always cover your work surface with a mat or some type of protective covering like wax paper or plastic.

Time needed for project:
1 to 1.5 hours

Materials:
- Canson® Mixed Media Paper Sketchbook, 2 pages
- Sakura® Sumo-Grip® Pencil
- Sakura® Permapaque® Markers

Directions:
1. Draw a big capital letter on your page in pencil.
5 min.

2. Experiment in pencil with the letter’s thickness, size, and shape until you’ve come up with a cool style of letter that is your very own!
10-15 min.

3. Outline and add doodles to your giant capital letter with Permapaque markers.
15 min.

4. On the next page, write out a smaller version of the whole alphabet of your new font in pencil. The letters will be smaller and less complicated.
15 - 20 min.

5. Trace over you small alphabet with the Permapaque markers and decorate you page! Now you have a whole alphabet to use!
20 - 30 min.
