The state bird of 3 states in this region: Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois, this bright crested red bird can’t be missed. They can also be recognized for their clear cheerful song. They love sunflower seeds. Our cardinal is found on a tile made from beads.

 

You will need:

  • 4mm x 7mm Pony beads
    97 -red 91 - black
    4 - yellow 8 - orange
    209 - clear
  • Foam core or stiff cardboard
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Felt

Instructions:

1. Measure and cut an 8” square from foam core or stiff cardboard and felt. 2. Glue felt to back of foam core.
3. Referring to the pattern, begin gluing beads from the bottom left corner of the square. Be careful to line up the beads as you work to maintain an even pattern. Glue beads hole side up.
Option: If you use smaller pony beads, the overall size will be smaller.
